New beginnings are everywhere -
The thoughts of fresh starts, renewing commitments, or trying something new are popping up all over.
That happens when the New Year comes.
We are encouraged to consider it as a clean slate.
Today, I want us to consider our life in Christ as that clean slate.
How amazing that once we accept Jesus's payment for our sins we don't have to drag those sins around with us anymore.
We are forgiven.
We are changed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that if we are united with Christ we are a new creation. The old life is gone - and see - a new life has begun

As we move into the new year of 2017, let us remember the sins of our past are covered, and today, we have a clean slate walking with Christ.
Father,
Let us dwell on your goodness and not on our mistakes as we step into this new year. Thank you for the blood of Jesus that paid the price and made the way for us back to you. May we fill our slates this year with more of you.
