We find joy in many things, our family or our friends.
We can find joy in our work, good company, or a great piece of literature.
But it is not the same as the joy we find in the Lord.
When we draw near to the Lord and seek His face, we are filled with unspeakable joy. It can sustain us in hard times and encourage us when our wells seem almost dry.
It gives us strength.
It gives us hope.
It give us peace.
"For the joy of Lord is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10b
"Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy." Psalm 126:5
"Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation." Isaiah 12:3
Let us during this season draw our joy from the source and focus our hearts on Him. Let His joy revive us. Let it move us to carry on with the journey.
Father,
Fill us with your joy. May it be our strength through hard places and a light in the darkness.
